Di Thang school point, situated in Yen Minh district, Ha Giang province, marks our first ever school building project.
Di Thang was completed in 2018. The 50 children who attend the school are all under the age of 10. For them, it is the norm to walk for hours to class every day in order to receive their education.
Our journey from Hanoi to Di Thang covered 9 hours on the road, making use of different means of transportation including car, motorbike and on foot due to unfavorable terrains. It is difficult to imagine that the children at Di Thang undertake such a challenging course on a daily basis to arrive at the classroom.
